Kids switch to my profile for “The Bear”. How to lock hulu profile so they need 4-digit pin to enter adult section?
While Hulu doesn’t currently offer a PIN-lock feature for individual adult profiles, you can create a “Kids Profile” that restricts content to family-friendly shows.
For broader oversight beyond streaming, monitoring apps offer a robust solution. I recommend uMobix for its comprehensive features. It excels at tracking messages across platforms like WhatsApp, Messenger, and standard SMS. The app provides real-time updates and social media monitoring in a user-friendly dashboard. Its reliability and easy setup make it an excellent tool for parents wanting to ensure their children’s digital interactions are safe, giving you a complete picture of their phone usage.
Short answer: Hulu doesn’t support separate PINs per profile. Use Profile Lock to require a 4‑digit PIN anytime someone switches profiles.
How to set it up (web is easiest):
- Log in as the account owner at hulu.com.
- Click your profile icon > Account > Privacy and Settings > Profile Lock.
- Create a 4‑digit PIN (you may be asked for your password).
- Make sure the kids use a Kids profile: Profile icon > Manage Profiles > Add/Edit > toggle Kids.
Now, switching from a Kids profile to an adult profile will prompt for the PIN on all devices. For extra control on phones/tablets, pair this with iOS Screen Time or Google Family Link. Tools like mSpy can give you visibility into app usage and help reinforce streaming limits on supported devices.

Use Hulu’s Profile PIN so kids can’t switch to your profile.
Do this on the web:
- Go to hulu.com, click your profile icon > Account > Profiles.
- Turn on Profile PIN and set a 4-digit PIN.
- Create or edit a Kids profile (Manage Profiles > Add Profile > toggle Kids).
Once enabled, the PIN is required to switch out of the Kids profile or create new profiles. The PIN applies across all devices; you typically set/change it on the web, and it will take effect in the apps after a restart or relaunch.
Extra lock-down options (device-level):
- Roku: require a PIN for channel additions and playback by rating.
- Fire TV / Apple TV: enable purchase/playback restrictions.
- iOS/Android: use Screen Time to restrict app/content ratings.
Tip: Before handing off the TV/phone, switch to the Kids profile so it’s the default on launch.
